Water

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17:8,9

I have a disposition-
an urge, an inner craving
to know, be known and make known
I itch to throw open the flood-
gates yet always,
The door is left
Only partially adjar
And outpour is stoppered
At throat bottleneck.

the world shakes
and sighs and says
'aie! aie!'

why
do you
cry?

I am color...blind. Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside. I am ready. I am ready
I am ready. I am. Taffy stuck, tongue tied
Stuttered shook and uptight. Pull me out from inside
I am ready. I am ready. I am ready. I am...fine

I am covered in skin. No one gets to come in.
Pull me out from inside.
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding
I am colorblind. Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside. I am ready. I am ready
I am ready. I am...fine. I am.... fine. I am fine

Life has loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fire that sways and sings,
And children's faces looking up
Holding wonder in a cup.

Life has loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of gold,
Scent of pine trees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy thoughts that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of peace
Count many a year of strife well lost,
And for a breath of ecstasy.
Give all you have been, or could be.

feelings change with time, as do mine.
feeling, in itself, is unreliable. it is too subjective.
it is a state of being which varies in between split seconds;
the variation may be nuanced
or drastic.

how then, does one measure feeling
quantitatively
at time=t?
where do we begin to count?
we cannot differentiate feeling
with respect to time.
there will be no gradient;
there will be no graph.

rate=k[A][B]

however
there is no such thing as a Feeling Constant.

impulsive and rash?
perhaps i am.
but betrayer of trust
i am not.

'I, that denied thee gold, will give my heart.
Strike as thou didst at Caesar; for I know,
When thou didst hate him worst, thou lovedst him better
Than ever thou lovedst Cassius.'

Apathy is an ambitious
Disease that creeps swiftly,
Silently
Escapes scientists,
Billboards and television sets,
On a homing signal
Targeted straight at the heart.
More fatal than any chemical
Or biological weapon,
It runs through networks and
vein clusters and
Circulates, circulates
From one carrier to
The next it replicates, radiates,
Propagates on and on and
On a divide-and-conquer mission to succeed.
An explosion in slow motion,
No visible effects,
No apparent warning symptoms,
Impossible to detect.

Till a crack,
And the tide turns.

Till a chain of floods and famines
And a string or two of wars
Take the poor, the lost, the homeless,
Abandoned and forgotten
Will it fully manifest
In the rest of human flesh
(Desensitised to death)
Then if will search and it will find
Us in our hollow, empty frames and
Find to its dismay
That it has no more hearts to claim.

Tout le monde me dit:
'Elle est jolie comme une fleur!'
Mais moi,
Je ne suis pas sur.
Pas tous les fleurs dans ce monde
Sentent bonnes;
Il y a toujours un ou deux exceptions...

For a moment,
Just a shiny
Fleeting
Instant,
Lost purpose;
Stopped.
Swept across
Green-blue opalascence.
Opened
To the sound of colours
Gently drifting,
Lifting,
Lightening
Silence.

Egret in the field
With a see-through plastic neck
Standing rigid
Ramrod straight,
On shrivelled stilt legs.
Yellow tinge of feather tip
Mistaken
For blades of seasick grass carpeting
The dust
Like some disease.
One child stops to stare
Damming
Traffic flow,
And wonders why
This creature play-thing
Does not move?

'Monday morning', yiwen.
