Water

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17:8,9

Pulled a lower back muscle today under rather embarrassing circumstances. Got prescribed some pain killer, muscle relaxant and "deep heat" rubbing gel. Such a pok I am.

Had a good time today shopping with mum at Robinsons ("The Sale worth waiting for")! The queue to the centerpoint carpark was nuts - we got turned away at the entrance because there was no more space in the parking lot. Being the savvy shopper though mum knew that the carpark at Specialist's Center would have space so we parked there instead.

Shopping was quite fun in robinsons - we tried on shoes that were on discount and I ended up buying a pair of black pumps with patent trimmings. Shiney :)Mum tried on a few tops but didn't get anything for herself in the end which was a pity :(

After centerpoint, I rushed off to takashimaya to meet pam for tea. We went to Toast (at pam's recommendation) and I had a slice of carrot cake with a cup of earl grey. Tea lasted for a grand total of three hours! We talked until the manager took off and members of the staff went home one by one. Reminiscing the good ol' days in Montreal over a delicious tea with an old friend was truly an indulgence. Really enjoyed myself. Must do this more often with dear people.

After a very long haitus, I've finally gotten round to sprucing this place up!

This blog is now spankin' clean and washed in a nice, cheerful shade of yellow. I'm very happy with it. The header picture reminds me of fort canning park (nevermind that fort canning doesn't actually have yellow trees).

Once upon a time in secondary school, I took a leisurely ramble through fort canning green in search of inspiration for poetry (the silly things kids do!). It was a hot day, so I found a bench to sit on under a tree and deliberately took my time to rest there. In my mind, I remember breathing in the air around me very deeply and remaining very still on that bench under that tree that sunny day on the green, letting the surrounding sights, sounds and smells permeate my senses.

I don't know if I've kept the bits and pieces of clumsy poetry that I jotted down that day on paper, but I do know regardless that my memories of fort canning - of its shady arbours, walking paths, spice gardens and old stone artifacts - still linger in my mind. Over the years, they've grown somewhat misty and I'm sure the details of this account in retrospect will evolve along with me putting on and putting off lenses. If one thing's for sure though, it's that I'm an incurably sentimental old fool.
